Sunday Volunteer Service Day

Sun Apr 20
9am12pm

Please register on website!

Meeting at Mermaid Park in Chestnut Hill

There is plenty of street parking nearby our meeting location and work site.
Please note that there will not be bathroom access during the service day.

Would you like to be part of keeping Wissahickon Valley Park beautiful and sustainable? Then join longtime Wissahickon steward David Bower, his dedicated team of Crew Leaders and Trail Ambassadors, and our partners at Friends of Cresheim Trail for a variety of stewardship projects!

All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said, this service day may include the following activities:

• Trail work: using long-handled tools, moving heavy objects
• Invasive plant removal: bending over, using long handled tools
• Litter clean-up
• Repetitive motions

We provide gloves, tools, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email the day before the event. If you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people, please reach out to us first. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org.
