Cycle September is here, and GoPhillyGo is ready to help you plan bike trips to log miles and earn points toward cool prizes. Every September, our parent organization Clean Air Council hosts the Love to Ride Cycle September Challenge, a friendly but competitive way to see how many miles you (and your workplace) can log during the month of September. Compete against your friends and co-workers to see who can ride the most miles, or log at least one ride during September for a chance to win prizes.
Getting you to fun places by bike is what GoPhillyGo is all about, and the GoPhillyGo Android App and mobile website make planning bike trips easy. You don’t need to own your own bike to participate in Cycle September. Our partners Indego Bike Share have stations near exciting parks and trails, and you can set GoPhillyGo to include walking directions to stations at the start and end of your trip. Every time you plan a bike trip with GoPhillyGo you help to lower greenhouse gas emissions, so why not reward yourself this September with a chance at cool prizes and bragging rights. Sign up for Cycle September and check out the bike-friendly destinations below and many more on GoPhillyGo!
John Heinz NWR
Take a break from city biking and explore miles of trails at America’s first urban wildlife refuge. Bike around a lake, through forests, and along tidal marshland that provides an amazing habitat for native and migratory birds from all over the East Coast. You’ll find plenty of places to relax and long trails to rack up miles.
Tacony Creek Park
The Tacony Creek Trail starts near the Montgomery County border, and winds along the Tacony Creek before ending in North Philadelphia. Explore this oasis by bike using the neighborhood gateways along nearly 4 miles of paved trail.
Cobbs Creek Park and Trail
Plan a ride on the Cobbs Creek Trail, and use it to get to points of interest around the park like the Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center, Haddington Woods, and Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Ride on over 4 miles of paved trail between the 63rd Street Market-Frankford El station and Woodland Avenue.
