GPG Goes to the Movies in the Garden

On Saturday, October 15, bike with GoPhillyGo across the Ben Franklin Bridge to the Camden Children’s Garden movie night. The Garden will be showing Disney’s The Jungle Book (2016).  Movie admission is $8*.  At the Camden Children’s Garden, there will be complimentary popcorn and beverages will be available for purchase. Attendees are allowed to bring their own snacks as well. Camden Children’s Garden will be providing our group with chairs for our viewing pleasure.

The ride is limited to 15 participants. To reserve your spot, please purchase your ticket through our registration page. When registering, please fill in all contact information, select Other and type in $8, and write GoPhillyGo under Anything else we should know. The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 11.

Meet us at  5:15 pm in Louis Kahn Park (11th and Pine) for 5:30 pm departure time. The route is about 4 miles long on roads with and without bike lanes. The Ben Franklin Bridge has a separated bike-pedestrian path and has an incline. This is a no-drop ride at a leisurely pace (8 to 10 mph). We can even stop for selfies on the bridge!

GoPhillyGo will lead a return trip from the Camden’s Children Garden to PATCO’s Broadway Station (complimentary tokens will be provided). Once on PATCO, riders are responsible for choosing their appropriate PATCO stop and riding the rest of the way home. PATCO’s Philadelphia stops include:

8th & Market St.

9-10th & Locust St.

12-13th & Locust St

15th & 16th Locust St

Please follow PATCO’s bicycle guidelines and be aware that the Ben Franklin Bridge bike-pedestrian path closes at 8:00 pm. GoPhillyGo will reserve a return PATCO train car for our group. Please stick with our group to board this train, as we will likely have more bikes than would otherwise be allowed.

This is a self-supported ride, we highly suggest bringing a spare tube and repair kit. All riders must wear a helmet and follow the rules of the road. Front white lights and rear red lights are required. We encourage riders to wear high visibility clothing as well as to bring a water bottle, snacks and a sweater or other warm and comfy movie watching clothes. Use of Indego bike share is not suggested since there is not an Indego docking station at the Camden Children’s Garden. Kids’ bikes, cargo bikes  and bike trailers are not permitted on this ride. We will be able to store the bikes inside of Camden Children's Garden.
