Sustainable Ways to Get to the Fireworks on July 4th!

It’s almost time for the Wawa Welcome America July 4th concert and fireworks celebration, and GoPhillyGo has you covered on getting there sustainably! Leave the car at home and use the GoPhillyGo Trip Planner to find ways to get to the holiday fun by bike, foot, or transit. Thousands of people will be flocking to Benjamin Franklin Parkway to see hip-hop legend LL Cool J and R&B songstress Jazmine Sullivan take the stage. Don’t get caught in traffic or end up circling for parking. Let us help you find the best route there.

Here are a few tips and tricks to make your fireworks fun and stress-free:

  • SEPTA will be running on a Sunday schedule but with extended late-night service. Check HERE to make sure that your route is running and if there are any detours due to road closures.
  • Here are some popular transit hubs with routes that will get you to the fireworks, just set the Trip Planner to your preferred modes of transportation:

40th Street Trolley Portal

Olney Transportation Center

Frankford Transportation Center

Walter Rand Transportation Center (Camden)

Fern Rock Transportation Center

NRG Station (Broad & Pattison)

Wissahickon Transportation Center

  • If you don’t have a bike of your own, Indego Bike Share has over 250 stations in the Philadelphia area. Rent a bike hassle-free and use our Trip Planner to find the station closest to you and the concert entrance through Logan Circle at 20th Street.
  • Walk the new Schuylkill Trail extension that just opened, the Christian to Crescent extension! The trail now connects Greys Ferry Crescent to South Street and continues on to Market or Chestnut to get to the Logan Circle entrance at 20th St and Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
