Fairmount Water Works Trail and Boardwalk
Explore this boardwalk over a previously inaccessible island between Fairmount Water Works and Boathouse Row. This green space is a perfect stopping point for cyclists and pedestrians along the SRT and features benches and landings with scenic views of the river and Philadelphia Museum of Art. This island is home to 8 species of turtles and is a haven for the endangered red bellied turtle.
The boardwalk is 380 ft long and the accompanying paved trail is 520 feet long. The completed portion of the Schuylkill River Trail is currently 75 miles long.
