The Academy of Natural Sciences
The Academy of Natural Sciences has been around for over 200 years, and is currently one of Philadelphia’s top Museums with 200,000 visitors annually. Visitors will find dioramas of stuffed, or mounted animals from every corner of the earth. Some of the most popular exhibits include Butterflies!, a live tropical butterfly garden, and Dinosaur Hall which is home to life sized skeletons of a Tyrannosaurus Rex and other dinosaurs. Children can also experience science first hand in the Outside In exhibit which features a large sandbox for hunting fossils and live animals that are often taken out of their enclosures to give visitors a close up look.
