DuPont Environmental Education Center
The DuPont Environmental Education Center (DEEC) sits at the edge of the 212-acre Russell W. Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge The center is open year-round and offers educational programs for all ages including children’s animal lunches to riverfront exercise classes. Keep an eye out for DEEC’s Nature Mobile taking environmental education on the go along the Wilmington riverwalk during the warmer months. Visitors will learn about the plants and animals of the marsh, take in views of the landscape from DEEC’s skywalk, and walk around the pond loop boardwalk through the marsh. Bike or walk to DEEC along the riverwalk (and soon the Markell Trail), take DART or the river taxi.
