Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) Park
Take the Broad Street Subway to this fantastic urban park located in South Philadelphia across from the Sports Complex and explore more than 300 acres of forests, lakes, a creek, and a lagoon. You will also find recreational fields, paved trails, stone bridges and a nationally renowned skateboard park. Gaze across the water at the boathouse and gazebo leftover from the city’s celebration of its 150th anniversary. The trees and waterways in the park make an amazing spot for birding. The park is also home to some of Pennsylvania’s last remaining coastal plains forest and freshwater tidal marsh.
