Penn Treaty Park
This site commemorates the peace agreement between William Penn and the Lenape Indians who once lived in Fishtown and Northern Liberties along the Delaware river. Today this park serves the Riverwards as an ideal spot for fishing, walking and relaxing. Walk down to the rocky banks and gaze upstream at Petty’s Island and downstream for a postcard view of the Ben Franklin Bridge. The parking lot gate is locked at sunset, but you are allowed to remain in the park after dark, so if you leave your car behind, you can enjoy a moonlit evening along the river.
