Shofuso Japanese House and Garden
The Shofuso Japanese House and Garden is a replica of a traditional 17th century Japanese house.. It reflects the traditional style of craftsmanship, and was built in Nagoya, Japan in 1953 before it was moved, and reassembled at its present location. Today, the Japanese House has over 30,000 visitors annually, and is located on the grounds of the Philadelphia Horticulture Center in West Fairmount Park. It’s open from April to October, but during the off season, the house makes a great, accessible starting point to explore this section of park. You will find trails that lead you through woods and down to a small creek, as well as some unique sculptures along the way.
