Fairmount Park is the gem of all urban parks across the country, and West Fairmount, has many unique places of its own to explore including sculptures and buildings leftover from the 1876 Centennial Exhibition. Take a trip to Belmont Plateau and see a postcard view of the Philadelphia skyline. Run, walk or bike along the Schuylkill River’s west bank, and along MLK Drive during it’s weekend closures to traffic from April to the end of October. Visit the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, and get a glimpse of 17th century Japanese architecture without leaving West Philadelphia, or see an outdoor concert at The Mann Center.
