Learn to craft jewelry out of seeds and plant fibers gathered at the Schuylkill Center. Led by artist Eric “Ka‘ahele” Morales, Ph.D, you will learn to craft jewelry designs that consider color, texture, technique, and environmental impact with reverence towards creation in all places and life. Take home a piece of jewelry and a deepened sense of connection to seeds!
This event is part of our current show, Seed Stories: A Celebration of Land-based Creators, which brings together several of Philadelphia’s seedkeepers to share the artistic practices they tend to alongside their gardens. Seedkeeping, a practice of growing plants for seed harvesting, sustains genetic biodiversity and carries forward ancestral wisdom, ensuring the legacy of these plants and their communities for future generations.
